Fred’s professional journey commenced in 1988, as a carpenter at the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees Local 42 union in Omaha, Nebraska. Here began Fred’s legacy of going above and beyond, ensuring every task was executed flawlessly.
His commitment earned him recognition from celebrities, with Reba McEntire, the Queen of Country, personally acknowledging Fred’s crucial role in preparing her shows, marked by annual hugs and warm greetings. Fred’s dedication also shone when, during Jerry Lewis’s performance of “Damn Yankees,” he located the missing leather boots crucial to the show, saving the night.
Stephen Stills, performing as part of Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, praised Fred’s problem-solving skills, a testament to Fred’s ability to tackle challenges in stage production.
These experiences left an indelible mark on Fred, shaping his dedication to customer service and a willingness to go beyond job expectations.
Before founding F.K. Builders Inc. in California, Fred joined the Carpenters Local 22 union in San Francisco. His leadership was evident in the reconstruction project commissioned by Twitter for their San Francisco office space. Fred connected two ten-story buildings into a single structure, earning trust as the go-to person when construction veered off course.
His expertise in residential construction and remodeling garnered attention, with projects featured in Diablo Magazine’s home and design section, solidifying Fred’s reputation in the East Bay.
Beyond carpentry, Fred is a master fabricator and mechanic, showcasing his skills in building Hot Rods featured in magazines like Classic Trucks.
